Our Story

We were looking for a house in La Chaume. Nowhere else.

We loved its small fishing-village spirit, the feeling that everyone knows each other, and being right next to the sea.

The garden seen from the far end: palm tree, olive tree and tiled roofs

The village

A choice, not a coincidence

La Chaume is a former fishing village on the other side of the channel, facing Les Sables. We chose it for what it has kept: narrow streets, a pace of its own, and the harbour never far away.

We wanted a house where the children, the grandchildren to come, family and friends could get together. A family home, in the simplest sense of the word.

The first visit

The garden won us over first

When we first saw the house, it was the garden that stopped us in our tracks. Then the living room, the volumes, the number of bedrooms, the location. And above all, the feeling of already being a little at home.

The house dates from 1870. It had a history, and it had been lovingly maintained by its previous owners. We didn't have to imagine it any differently: you could put your bags down and start living there straight away.

Life in the house

What happens here when we're around

Long tables overflowing with people. Walks with no particular aim, on foot or by bike. Surfing between brothers when the sea allows. Evenings that stretch out in the garden, under the palm tree.

It's a house made for those moments: the ones you spend together, with nothing to organise.

Board games and a fruit bowl on the coffee table in the living room

Today, we want to keep that spirit: a lively, simple and elegant house, made to be lived in, shared and filled with memories.

When we're not there, we open it to other families. With the same wish: that you feel expected.
